Rollers

The double-drum vibratory roller is a machine ranging in weight from 700 kg (for pedestrian/walk-behind operators) up to 17,000 kg (for heavy self-propelled units).
Most models feature drum vibration for enhanced compaction, as well as a water system required for asphalt work.
With drum widths ranging from 60 cm to over 200 cm, these machines are suitable for working on narrow pavements as well as wide road lanes.
There is also a remote-controlled model weighing 1 ton, fitted with textured (padfoot) drums, known as trench rollers.
These are typically used for compacting soil and aggregate materials in trenches and excavated channels.
